K-5 Teacher Of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for 2023-2024 School Year
Location: Kingman, AZ
Dates: ASAP - 5/22/24
We are partnering with a local school district in Kingman, AZ to hire on a highly motivated and passionate TVI (Teacher Of the Visually Impaired) to join their academic team for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.
Schedule: Full-time, Mon-Fri. guaranteed 30-40 hours per week, no overtime. Holidays & school breaks scheduled off.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to visually impaired students in a K-5 setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and parents to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Utilize a variety of specialized techniques, materials, and technologies to enhance the learning experience for visually impaired students.
- Foster independence, self-advocacy, and social skills in students with visual impairments.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Requirements:
- Valid teaching license in Arizona in Blind and Visually Impaired (BVI) Tier 3 or 4.
- Active IVP Fingerprint cards & AZ certifications
- Experience working with K-8th grade students with visual impairments is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Flexibility to work across multiple grade levels and adapt to varying student needs.
- Passion for promoting inclusivity and accessibility in education.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
