Days: M-F 6:30-3:30pm
Number of Positions Available: One
Caseload: Supporting Elementary Students
Smaller Caseload: 1 - 2 Students

Job Summary:
Kingman Unified School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team. As a TVI, you will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in an elementary school setting. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in an elementary school setting
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure student success
- Teach students a variety of skills related to vision loss, such as braille, orientation and mobility, and independent living skills
- Help students to access the general education curriculum
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in education for the visually impaired
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, with a specialization in Visual Impairment
- Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching License with a Visual Impairment Endorsement
- Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting is preferred
- Strong understanding of the unique needs of students with visual impairments and the impact of vision loss on learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Patience and compassion
