Job Description: BlazerJobs, in collaboration with a school district in Greenville, SC, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time position. As a TVI, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students, fostering their academic and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students.
- Provide direct instruction in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance the learning experience for visually impaired students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience working with visually impaired or blind students is preferred.
- Knowledge of Braille and other adaptive technologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
