Procare Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated part time K-12 Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year in LAKE MONROE, FL. As a TVI, you will provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, enabling them to access the curriculum and participate fully in the school environment. This position is hourly, offering full-time hours on a contract basis.

Job Description:

  • Provide individualized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the students' varying needs.
  • Conduct assessments to determine students' visual abilities and educational needs.
  • Provide instruction in areas such as Braille, orientation and mobility, daily living skills, and assistive technology.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.
  • Valid Teaching Credential for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
  • Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments.
  • Knowledge of Braille and assistive technologies for visually impaired students.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
