Teacher for the Visually Impaired Part-Time Virtual Job Opening

Are you a TVI with a California license? Do you have 2+ years of experience working in schools? Are you looking for a part-time remote position? 

You may be the ideal candidate for this job opening! Sunbelt Staffing is looking for a talented Teacher for the Visually Impaired to join the team! This is a part-time position and is 100% virtual. The position will be a K-8th grade caseload, with most of the students having visual impairments. Some students may have other disabilities as well. 

Position Details: 

• Part-time
  • 20 hours per week
• Provide direct braille instructions
• Work as a member of a trans-disciplinary team for planning, assessing, and developing appropriate IEP/ITP goals
• Work with caregivers to teach skills and suggest ways to home or do household chores that will make it easier for the child to participate in family life
• Meet with members of the educational team to discuss students' progress and make suggestions for strategies to make school work accessible
• Providing consultation and training for teachers, paraeducators, and other school personnel on effective strategies for teaching students with visual impairments

Requirements

• California TVI CTC Credential
• Must have at least 2 years of on-site school experience 
• Candidates must go through a short tech-screening
• Orientation + Mobility certification is plus
• Experience with teletherapy is preferred
• Must be tech-savvy
