Procare Therapy, a leading education staffing company, is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year. We are looking for a skilled professional who is committed to making a difference in the lives of visually impaired students. This position is hourly-based, offers full-time hours, and is contracted through Procare Therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments, enabling them to access the curriculum and participate in all aspects of the school environment.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize appropriate adaptive technologies and teaching methods to enhance students' learning experiences.
- Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school-related activities as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, with certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments, including knowledge of braille and assistive technologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
