As a Full-Time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) you will play a critical role in supporting students with visual impairments in their educational journey. Your expertise and guidance will help students access the curriculum, develop essential skills, and achieve their educational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students' visual needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with their educational objectives.
  • Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, including braille instruction, orientation and mobility training, and adaptive technology usage.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and parents to ensure students receive appropriate support and accommodations.
  • Maintain detailed records and progress reports to monitor students' growth and success.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado teaching license with an endorsement in Visual Impairments.
  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
  • Proficiency in braille and other adaptive technologies.
  • Strong understanding of visual impairment assessment and educational strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for making a positive impact on students' lives.
