Job Title: Teacher of The Visually Impaired

Location: Near Henderson, NV

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher of The Visually Impaired to join our team and work with 30 students who have vision disabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students who have a range of visual impairments. You will work closely with students, families, and other educators to ensure that each student has the opportunity to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and support to students with visual impairments • Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) and accommodations for students with visual impairments • Use a variety of instructional techniques and materials to support student learning • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, related service providers, and other educators to support students' academic and social-emotional needs • Assess and evaluate students' progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed • Provide ongoing communication and support to families of students with visual impairments • Attend and participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Visual Impairments • Valid state certification in Visual Impairments or willingness to obtain certification • Knowledge of Braille, adaptive technology, and other assistive technology used to support students with visual impairments • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience teaching students with visual impairments
