As a Full-Time Teacher of the Visually Impaired you will play a vital role in empowering students with visual impairments to achieve their full potential. Your expertise and passion for inclusive education will make a lasting impact on the lives of these students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, both one-on-one and in group settings.
  • Assess students' needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including classroom teachers and therapists, to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Adapt and create materials in Braille and other accessible formats.
  • Foster independence and self-advocacy skills in students.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California teaching credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
  • Previous experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Braille and other assistive technologies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dedication to inclusive education and student success.
