ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for an exciting job opportunity in Stanton, MI. If you are passionate about providing quality education and support to students with visual impairments, we want to hear from you!
Job Title: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Location: Stanton, MI
Employment type: Part-time/ 2-3 times a week
Caseload: 20 kids / Multiple School Sites
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Assess students' needs and develop individualized education plans
- Teach skills such as braille reading and writing, adaptive technology usage, and orientation and mobility
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' educational goals
- Monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback and support
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Current State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Teacher of the Visually Impaired or can obtain a (MI) State Teaching Certificate.
- Experience working with students with visual impairments (school setting experience is advantageous)
- Proficiency in braille reading and writing, as well as assistive technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
