Daily tasks include providing individualized instruction, supporting accessibility and independence, and consulting with educational staff regarding strategies and best practices for visually impaired learners. Whether working one-on-one or consulting across different schools, your expertise will foster enriched educational experiences for every student you serve.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting preferred
  • Willingness to fulfill all district credentialing processes, including background check and fingerprinting
  • Ability to collaborate with teams, families, and external service providers
  • Resourcefulness, flexibility, and outstanding communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across various age groups
  • Assess and adapt instructional materials for accessibility
  • Serve as a consultant and advocate within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
