Teacher of Visually Impaired in Denver, CO
Empower students and make a meaningful difference as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the Denver area for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This is a contract opportunity supporting local schools in the region, working directly onsite with students who are visually impaired. The caseload will include various age groups, with specific assignments finalized closer to the start date as the district coordinates its needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification.
- Experience or specialized skills working with visually impaired students in K-12 school settings.
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and related documentation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learner needs and support integration into general education environments.
- Successful completion of district background check and fingerprinting is required.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support and develop resources/adaptations for visually impaired students.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and support professionals to maximize student success.
- Assess students’ needs and help develop strategies for greater classroom independence.
- Maintain records, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
- May work across multiple campuses depending on district requirements.
