Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Visual Impairment Education or related field
- Valid teaching license/certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting preferred
- Proficiency in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility strategies
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Collaborative mindset for working with general/special education staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess students' functional vision and learning needs
- Support the use of adaptive devices, Braille instruction, and specialized curricula
- Maintain documentation and communication with staff and families
- Foster an environment where students can achieve their goals and increase independence
