Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility techniques
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working well with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering academic achievement and independence for each student
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in various educational settings
- Assess student abilities and develop tailored educational plans in partnership with IEP teams
- Adapt classroom materials into accessible formats, such as Braille and large print
- Introduce and support the use of assistive technology and specialized equipment
- Provide ongoing consultation for classroom teachers on best practices for inclusion and accessibility
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in regular team meetings
- Support transition planning and skills for student independence
