Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting
- Comfort and proficiency documenting daily service logs
- Ability to collaborate with district staff to identify ideal caseload placement and age groups based on strengths and experience
- Availability for onsite work (remote candidates will not be considered)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students who are visually impaired, tailored to individual educational plans
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to support student access and success
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational team decisions
- Adapt curriculum materials and environments for student use
- Offer expertise in assistive technology and tools for visually impaired learners
