Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Fort Benning, Georgia
An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) seeking an onsite, contract position in a supportive educational environment. This full-time role will be based near Fort Benning, Georgia, for the academic year beginning August 3rd, 2026 and concluding May 21st, 2027, with the possibility of additional pre- or post-planning days. Part-time arrangements may be considered, depending on district needs and candidate availability.
As the district finalizes its budget for the coming school year, interviews are projected to begin in June or early July. Candidates who express interest early will be carefully considered when the selection process begins. Flexibility and adaptability are important, as caseload assignments will be tailored to your experience and preferences in consultation with district leadership.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired required
- Solid experience providing direct instructional and consultative services to students with visual impairments in a school setting
- Strong documentation skills, including consistent completion of daily service logs
- Willingness to work onsite; remote/VOCO candidates cannot be considered for this assignment
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with staff and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and learning materials as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive daily logs detailing services delivered
- Consult and collaborate with educators and support staff to promote student inclusion and accessibility
- Engage in ongoing professional development and district-required training
