An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated educator with experience supporting students with visual impairments. This contract role is perfect for someone interested in making a meaningful difference within a school-based setting, working directly with students in-person over the course of the 2026–2027 academic year.
You will be part of a collaborative, student-focused environment committed to accessible learning. The position covers the full academic year, beginning in August and ending in May, with potential for a small number of pre- or post-planning days. This is ideally a full-time role, but highly qualified part-time candidates will be considered.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Georgia Educator Certificate with Visual Impairment endorsement required
- Professional experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a school setting
- Strong organization skills—daily documentation and logs required for compliance
- Comfortable collaborating with interviewers to determine ideal caseload and age group based on expertise and preference
- Willingness to work onsite; virtual/remote applicants are not being considered
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct services to students with visual impairments, tailoring instruction to meet IEP goals
- Maintain accurate and timely daily service logs and documentation
- Collaborate closely with educational staff, students, and families
- Adapt materials and instructional approaches for accessibility
- Participate in IEP meetings and consult on student programming and supports
