Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | California
An educational role is available for a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instruction and support for visually impaired students for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers a hybrid work schedule, primarily onsite in Roseville, CA, with some flexibility for telehealth services.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct vision services to students, meeting approximately twice a week for 60 minutes each session, as outlined in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Provide a minimum of 60 minutes per student per month of in-person vision service and complete 180 minutes yearly of parent consultation.
- Conduct IEP meetings virtually, ensuring comprehensive planning and documentation for tailored student support.
- Address compensatory service requirements by completing an additional 500 minutes beyond the scheduled instruction time.
- Collaborate virtually with other educational professionals to support student progress and meet compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired with experience in delivering both onsite and telehealth instruction.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and conduct engaging virtual IEP meetings.
- Strong communication skills for parent consultations and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Familiarity with special education laws and procedures related to vision services.
- Capacity to meet the extensive service hours required to complete compensatory instruction.
Location:
- Roseville, CA with some telehealth flexibility.
The contract may begin during the current school year with the possibility of extension through summer to fulfill service obligations.
