Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired - SD

A contract position is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired specializing in telehealth services. This role supports K-12 students by delivering specialized instruction designed to enhance the educational experience for visually impaired learners.
Location: Harrisburg, South Dakota
Schedule: 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to visually impaired students via telehealth platforms
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other educational professionals to implement appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with state and school policies
Qualifications:
- South Dakota Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification or credential required
- Experience in telehealth or remote instructional methods preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a virtual learning environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
