Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Virginia

A contract position is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher specializing in Telehealth services, supporting students with visual impairments in an educational setting. This role involves delivering specialized instruction and therapy via telehealth platforms to enhance students' learning experiences and independence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive instruction and support to students with visual impairments through telehealth methods.
• Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to create effective strategies and accommodations.
• Utilize assistive technology and adaptive tools to facilitate student engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of student sessions and report outcomes.
• Stay informed on best practices and emerging technologies in telehealth and visual impairment education.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or equivalent credentials.
• Experience delivering instructional services via telehealth platforms.
• Strong knowledge of visual impairment education techniques and assistive technology.
• Excellent communication skills for effective virtual interactions with students, families, and team members.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs remotely.
