Desired Qualifications:
- Certification in Assistive Technology (national certification not required, but must hold relevant certification beyond completing CEUs)
- Strong background in assessing and implementing assistive, adaptive, or medical technology for students with profound orthopedic impairments
- Excellent communication, consultative, and documentation skills
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within educational or pediatric settings
- Ability to adapt quickly and thoughtfully to individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person assessments to determine appropriate assistive technology for students with significant physical impairments
- Consult with classroom staff, therapists, and families to ensure optimal support and integration of medical technology
- Create and deliver training and resources regarding the effective use of assistive technology devices
- Support the documentation process and comply with education and medical guidelines
- Remain current on advancements in assistive technology and best practices in the field
