Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois TVI EDU Certification
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired, ranging from early childhood to high school
- Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and district staff
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to travel between different school environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students
- Provide direct instruction and adaptive strategies across multiple grade levels
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to support student inclusion and access
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate assistive technologies or modifications
- Consult with faculty and parents, delivering professional guidance and training as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and assessments
