Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instruction and support to a small caseload of elementary students. This role focuses on ensuring students have access to the curriculum, developing essential visual and functional skills, and delivering services in alignment with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Caseload:
- 2 elementary students with visual impairments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and/or consultative TVI services in accordance with IEPs
- Adapt instructional materials to meet students’ visual and accessibility needs
- Support the development of compensatory, functional, and independent living skills
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff
- Maintain accurate service logs, documentation, and progress reports
Qualifications:
- Valid state certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Additional Details:
- Flexible, part-time schedule (2 days per week)
