Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Demonstrated expertise in instructing students with visual impairments in K-12 settings
- Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that address students' unique needs
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional techniques for maximum accessibility
- Commitment to traveling between various sites within the district as needed
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, tailoring strategies to individual learning styles
- Support inclusion by collaborating with general education staff and supporting classroom modifications
- Advocate for accessible materials and environmental adaptations
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
