Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia PSC certification with endorsement in Vision Impairment/Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Practical experience supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and related compliance processes
- Ability to consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, individualized instruction according to IEP requirements in two 30-minute sessions each month
- Work closely with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective accommodations and accessible lesson materials
- Advise on the appropriate use of assistive technology and classroom modifications
- Track student progress and communicate relevant updates and recommendations to the school’s instructional team
- Ensure all IEP accommodations are provided and documented consistently
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
