Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments, supporting Braille literacy and the use of assistive technology
- Adapt curriculum materials into appropriate accessible formats, including Braille, large print, and tactile graphics
- Provide training and support to staff and families regarding strategies and tools that enhance learning for visually impaired students
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ functional vision and learning needs
- Advocate for accessible classrooms and equal educational opportunities
- Maintain thorough progress documentation and participate in IEP meetings to inform educational planning
