Key Qualifications:
- Possession of an active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience providing specialized instruction to visually impaired students, with a preference for school-based environments
- Comfort with documenting services daily through detailed logs
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with both school staff and families
- Commitment to in-person instruction (remote or VOCO candidates cannot be considered)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students on your assigned caseload (student numbers and age group placement determined after interview process)
- Adapt and implement individualized educational plans in collaboration with other professionals
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise in the area of visual impairments
- Maintain accurate daily records of student progress and services provided
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students and school staff to enhance access and ensure best practices
