Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Department of Education License with certification for Visually Impaired Students required
- Minimum of two years of recent teaching experience, preferably with visually impaired learners
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing, writing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with related services staff, families, and other educators
Responsibilities:
- Provide itinerant instructional services to K-12 students with visual impairments throughout the district
- Partner with an existing virtual TVI to ensure continuity and quality of services
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to support each student's academic and functional needs
- Monitor progress, document performance, and participate in regular IEP meetings
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, staff, and families regarding visual impairment needs
- Communicate routinely with administrators and follow up regarding any additional service or program needs
