Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with blind or visually impaired school-aged children
- Comfortable serving K-12 grades and adapting supports for varying abilities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to travel regionally within the county to multiple school sites
- Collaborative spirit for working with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative TVI services to students according to IEPs
- Adapt curriculum and materials to meet individual student needs
- Support other school staff with strategies and modifications for visually impaired students
- Conduct assessments, track student progress, and maintain accurate documentation
- Deliver instruction that builds independence in students with visual impairments
- Communicate consistently with IEP teams and families
- Ensure all services remain in-person (not remote/virtual)
