Key Qualifications:
- Current Georgia license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Background in working with students who are visually impaired, preferably within a school environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction for students of varying ages and needs within K-12
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments for approximately 6-7 hours each month, one day per week
- Assess student needs and develop individualized educational strategies that foster academic and functional independence
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and support staff to ensure effective IEP implementation
- Offer recommendations for classroom adaptations and specialized materials, facilitating a barrier-free learning environment
- Document student progress and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
