What you’ll bring:
- Current South Carolina Teaching Certificate with a Visual Impairment (VI) Endorsement
- Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or in a related specialized education role
- Knowledge of adaptive technologies and materials for students with visual impairments
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, students, and parents
- Ability to travel between school sites as needed
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultation services to students with visual impairments across multiple locations
- Develop and adapt individualized education program (IEP) goals, ensuring accessibility of curriculum and materials
- Assess students’ educational and functional vision needs, recommending appropriate accommodations and strategies
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure effective inclusion and support
- Train school staff and families in the use of adaptive technologies and resources
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports in accordance with program guidelines
