Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Demonstrated experience working with students across a range of grade levels, with a focus on elementary-aged children
- Strong understanding of implementing and adapting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Flexibility to work onsite and travel between multiple school locations if needed
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to a caseload of approximately 8-10 students, with the possibility of adjustment as new students qualify for support
- Work primarily with elementary students, with potential involvement with middle and high schoolers
- Provide personalized instruction and support tailored to students' individual needs as outlined in their IEPs
- Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with other service providers, teachers, and staff
- Complete thorough documentation for each service rendered and participate in IEP related communications
- Adapt and adjust instructional strategies to best serve visually impaired students across diverse school settings
