Work onsite as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and collaborate closely with educational teams to create accessible, inclusive learning experiences. This position offers full-time hours, with two openings available, and the opportunity to cover floating assignments. While the specific caseload will be determined soon, you’ll be instrumental in providing flexible, tailored support to meet evolving student needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired or blind, preferably in a school setting
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel between sites as needed for floating assignments
- Collaborative mindset and adaptability to changing caseloads
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments
- Assess students’ abilities and needs; develop and implement appropriate IEPs
- Consult with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student access across settings
- Provide training, materials, and recommendations to promote accessibility
- Serve as an advocate for students’ educational and social inclusion
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and district initiatives
