Location: Ludington, MI
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Assignment Dates:

- First Day of School: September 7, 2026
- End Date: June 16, 2027
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher Consultant for Visual Impairments (TCVI) to provide both direct instruction and consultative services for students with visual impairments across multiple school districts. This role includes supporting students who require Braille instruction while collaborating with educational teams to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and specialized services.
Position Details
- Full-time, school-year position
- Hybrid model of direct and consultative services
- Caseload of approximately 24–26 students
- Student population: Birth through age 26
- Approximately 6 students require Braille instruction
- Travel between 3 counties (travel reimbursement provided)
- Support from 2–3 paraprofessionals within classroom settings
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and consultation services to students with visual impairments
- Deliver Braille instruction and support as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and related service providers
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Recommend accommodations, assistive technology, and accessibility supports
- Travel between assigned school districts to provide services
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records
Qualifications
- Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) endorsement required
- Candidates without a current Teacher Consultant credential are encouraged to apply; the district will assist with the Teacher Consultant application process
- Experience providing Braille instruction preferred
- Ability to travel between multiple school locations
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
