This position will immerse you in a dynamic K–12 environment, serving learners from preschool through age 22 across three schools. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) from an accredited institution; Master’s in Special Education preferred
- Current Massachusetts DESE certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (Vision Impairment license)
- SEI Endorsement required
- In-depth knowledge of ECC, with experience in compensatory/access skills, assistive technology, and O&M-related collaboration
- Skilled with Braille, large print, tactile graphics, and low-vision devices (preferred)
- Experience with functional vision and learning media assessments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver TVI services to students ages 3–22 across three buildings
- Conduct functional vision assessments, learning media assessments, and vision-specific evaluations to guide eligibility and IEP development
- Adapt materials and work collaboratively with staff and specialists
- Support students with a wide range of vision needs by providing access to curriculum and technology
