Key Qualifications:
- Current Georgia teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired in a K-12 school setting
- Comfortable with flexible caseload assignments, as student groupings will be determined in collaboration with school leaders based on your background and preferences
- Strong documentation skills, including maintaining accurate daily service logs
- Commitment to onsite, in-person instruction (remote opportunities are not available for this position)
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct services, support, and instruction to students with visual impairments according to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Develop and adapt learning materials for accessibility, using Braille, large print, or assistive technology as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment
- Attend meetings, participate in IEP development, and communicate progress with families
- Stay organized and punctual with required daily documentation
