Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working in a school setting with students who are blind or visually impaired
- Strong understanding of braille, tactile materials, and accessible technology
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing caseloads and school needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction according to students’ IEPs in individual and group settings
- Assess and monitor students’ progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Provide guidance on adaptive materials and technologies to promote student engagement and independence
- Communicate regularly with school personnel and families, sharing strategies and updates
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports as required by district and state regulations
