Exciting opportunities are available for Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support students in a dynamic school setting near Orlando, FL. As a valued educator on a contract assignment, you’ll work closely with students, educators, and families to help visually impaired learners reach their full potential in an inclusive academic environment. This on-site position begins as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, offering a stable, full-time schedule of 35 hours per week. Multiple positions are open, and interviews are being scheduled now for qualified candidates.

Qualifications:

  • Current Educator Certification required
  • National Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
  • Previous experience supporting visually impaired students in a school setting preferred
  • Must complete a district background check
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  • Adaptability and passion for serving school-age children in inclusive classrooms

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional support to visually impaired students
  • Adapt curriculum materials and assessments to ensure accessibility
  • Develop, implement, and track individualized student goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and maintain documentation
  • Travel between assigned school sites as needed (assignments to be determined)
  • Participate in IEP meetings and help coordinate services for students
