Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required
- Experience working with K-12 learners with visual impairments preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels (K-12)
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in partnership with IEP teams
- Assess student needs and plan lessons utilizing braille, large print, or specialized instructional materials as necessary
- Consult with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are in place
- Provide training and support on assistive technology tools to students and staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and monitor student progress
Position Details:
- Full-time contract role: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
