A contract opportunity is open for dedicated Teachers of the Visually Impaired who are passionate about empowering learners from kindergarten through twelfth grade. You’ll collaborate with an experienced team, designing and adapting instruction for K-12 students to unlock their full potential. Whether you are available full-time or part-time, your expertise will make a difference across five days each week.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) certification
- Current Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GAPSC) credential
- Ability to adapt curriculum and materials for students with visual impairments
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and staff
- Passion for individualized instruction and advocacy
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Assess students and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Consult with classroom teachers and other educational professionals on best practices for inclusion and accommodations
- Provide support with assistive technology and accessible educational materials
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records
- Foster a supportive, motivating, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
