Qualifications:
- Current, active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license/certification required
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments is highly desirable
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to varying levels of visual needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with a multidisciplinary team
- Committed to providing engaging, adaptive instruction and materials
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to visually impaired students in individual and group settings
- Adapt curriculum, teaching materials, and classroom environments to ensure accessibility
- Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and family conferences
- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding best practices and adaptive technology
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all educational standards
- Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere for learning and growth
