Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) - Colorado

A teaching opportunity is available for a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) offering telehealth services in Colorado Springs, CO. This contract role serves students across a broad age span, from kindergarten through adult transition, providing specialized instruction tailored to visual impairments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct educational services to a caseload of 9 students aged K-21 years.
• Conducting evaluations to assess student needs and progress.
• Developing and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet state and federal guidelines.
• Collaborating with support staff such as paraprofessionals, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) who provide district supervision.
• Utilizing telehealth platforms to effectively reach students.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Active TVI license.
• Experience working with a diverse age range, from early childhood to adult transition.
• Strong skills in conducting assessments and developing IEPs.
• Familiarity with telehealth service delivery in educational settings.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with district policies.
• Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments in school environments.

This part-time role requires 20-25 hours per week during the academic year from August 10, 2026, through May 20, 2027. Comprehensive onboarding including fingerprint clearance is mandatory before the start date.
