Remote Bilingual School Counselor Needed

Bilingual School Counselor – Full-Time Contract

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our team in Illinois! This full-time contract position begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year.

The counselor will work primarily within one school building, providing students with consistent academic, social-emotional, and personal support while building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small-group counseling to support students’ academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
• Help students establish educational, career, and personal goals and develop strategies to overcome challenges.
• Provide crisis intervention and connect students and families with appropriate resources and services when needed.
• Maintain student confidentiality and accurate counseling records in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and other professionals to address student needs and promote academic success.
• Support initiatives focused on bullying prevention, positive behavior, conflict resolution, and student well-being.
• Assist students with career exploration, post-secondary planning, and educational decision-making.
• Advocate for students and help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual/Fluent in Spanish
• Valid Illinois certification/licensure as a School or Guidance Counselor
• PEL (Professional Educator Licensure) Required!
• Previous experience working as a school counselor or in a related K–12 educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of counseling practices, student advocacy, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and administrators.
• Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for all students.
