You’ll play an essential role in helping students achieve their highest potential, working as part of an onsite team. The caseload may vary as positions are floating, providing an opportunity to support diverse learners across different settings.
What We're Looking For:
- Certification and experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Strong understanding of instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology for students with visual impairments
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing caseloads and student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Commitment to fostering an accessible, supportive, and empowering learning environment
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and modify curriculum for visually impaired students across varying ages and abilities
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and educational staff to ensure appropriate accommodations are in place
- Provide direct and consultative services both individually and in group settings, according to student IEPs
- Document and track progress, adapting goals as necessary
- Offer support and resources to families and school staff
