Qualifications:
- Active Texas State Visually Impaired (TSVI) licensure required
- Previous experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or in similar educational roles preferred
- Passion for empowering K–12 students with visual impairments
- Flexibility for itinerant assignments and adapting to shifts in campuses/caseloads
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for a caseload of 12–15 students (including homebound students), with assignments across about six schools
- Regularly assess students’ needs and adapt educational plans as caseloads evolve
- Work closely with teachers, aides, families, and service providers to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
- Support inclusive practices and advocate for accessibility across learning environments
