AT Specialist Therapist | Chandler, Arizona
Take your expertise in assistive technology and speech-language pathology to the next level in a dynamic, student-focused contract setting. This per diem opportunity supports K-12 students by assessing their communication challenges and recommending the right tools to foster educational success. You'll collaborate with educators and specialists to ensure students have access to the devices and supports they need, including speech-generating devices, communication apps, Pic communication systems, and switch-access tools.
Role Highlights:
- Conduct detailed AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) evaluations in K-12 educational settings
- Assess student needs and recommend appropriate assistive technology solutions for communication and learning
- Document assessments, recommendations, and training protocols clearly and effectively
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful device implementation and ongoing support
- Provide expertise on the latest assistive technologies, helping guide teams and families on use and best practices
Qualifications:
- Current CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology)
- Valid Arizona SLP license
- Significant experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) assessments and recommendations
- Prior experience conducting AAC device evaluations with demonstrated success in writing clear, actionable recommendations
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution-focused approach
- Experience working in K-12 environments highly preferred
- Availability for flexible, per diem scheduling as required
