Assistive Technology Therapist Specialist in San Tan Valley, AZ

Your expertise will be pivotal in identifying, recommending, and customizing assistive technology—from speech-generating devices and communication apps to picture communication systems, switch-access devices, and other innovative tools. You’ll conduct thorough assessments to pinpoint each student’s unique needs and directly influence their ability to participate fully in educational programs.
Candidates suited for this position are collaborative problem-solvers with a passion for AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and educational access.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Arizona SLP license (required)
- Demonstrated experience with AAC evaluation and device selection
- Track record of conducting AAC device assessments and authoring recommendations
- Comfort recommending a broad range of assistive technology solutions in K-12 environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess individual student communication and assistive technology needs
- Perform and document AAC evaluations, including device trials
- Recommend and support implementation of speech-generating devices, communication applications, and related technologies
- Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to maximize student access and participation
- Deliver clear, actionable reports and recommendations
