Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience developing and adapting curriculum for students with visual impairments
• Knowledge of Braille instruction and assistive technology
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Previous school-based experience preferred

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in a school environment
• Assess students’ vision-related educational needs and develop tailored learning plans
• Adapt classroom materials and modify instructional methods to ensure accessibility
• Support classroom teachers and staff with strategies and resources
• Deliver instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain thorough educational documentation
