Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with an endorsement for Visually Impaired instruction
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education for the Visually Impaired or related field
• Proficiency in Braille and use of assistive technology for the visually impaired
• Experience developing and adapting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Previous work in a school setting supporting students with visual impairments preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in accordance with IEP goals
• Assess student needs and recommend appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations
• Adapt classroom materials and resources to ensure accessibility for all learners
• Assist in teaching adaptive, daily living, and orientation and mobility skills
• Work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and family members to promote student success
• Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing progress assessments
