Preferred Qualifications:

• State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments in educational settings
• Familiarity with Braille instruction, orientation and mobility techniques, and adaptive technology
• Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify students’ visual and functional needs
• Design and deliver individualized instruction using adapted materials and technology
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusive learning
• Provide training for staff and families on instructional modifications and strategies
• Engage in progress monitoring, documentation, and regular communication with stakeholders
• Advocate for appropriate accommodations and resources for each student
