Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment or a related area
• Proven experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably within a school environment
• Familiarity with assistive technology, Braille instruction, and modified curriculum design for students with sight challenges
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff
• Adaptable, patient disposition and a commitment to individualized instruction
• Ability to conduct functional vision assessments and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)

Responsibilities & Key Duties:

• Deliver tailored instruction in both individual and small group settings
• Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs
• Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and use of assistive technology
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers to modify curriculum and facilitate classroom accessibility
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to student planning and progress monitoring
• Work closely with families to share strategies, resources, and progress updates
