Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is mandatory
- Prior experience in 1:1 pediatric or student support is highly valued
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to develop and adapt educational plans and resources to meet unique student needs
- Willingness to work on-site in a collaborative educational setting
- Eager to work as a travel professional or open to relocation for the assignment
Responsibilities:
- Partner directly with a visually impaired student, providing 1:1 instruction, adaptation of curriculum materials, and classroom support
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to tailor an inclusive educational experience
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress according to individual educational goals
- Introduce adaptive technology and tools to foster independence and academic achievement
- Advocate for student needs and ensure full access to learning opportunities
